As technology advances, long-range electric vehicles are now becoming more prominent on UK roads.

Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, Kia, and Audi, all now offer electric cars with ranges exceeding 300 miles. This is great news for drivers who might be concerned about range anxiety.

In this article, we’re looking at 10 of the UK’s longest-range electric cars. Read on to find out more.

 

 

1. Mercedes-Benz EQS – up to 441 miles (WLTP)

The Mercedes-Benz EQS is a luxury saloon car that offers a whopping range of up to 441 miles (WLTP). With up to 360hp, you can accelerate from 0-60mph in around 6.5 seconds.

Using a 200kW rapid charger, you can charge the battery from 10-80% in just 31 minutes. The Mercedes-Benz EQS also uses intelligent thermal management. This helps to pre-heat or cool the battery to the optimum temperature which will help optimise charging.

2. BMW iX M60 – up to 389 miles (WLTP)

The BMW iX M60 is the first pure electric model in the BMW’s M line-up. Get ready to enjoy sports performance, with zero emissions. With up to 619hp, accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds.

Two electric motors deliver up to 349 miles (WLTP) of range and impressive charging times.

Regain 62 miles of range in just over two and a half hours using a home wall box, or six minutes at a high-power charging station.

3. Mercedes-Benz EQE – up to 388 miles (WLTP)

As the EQS’s more compact sibling, the Mercedes-Benz EQE is another luxury electric saloon that gives you the power to go further. With up to 388 miles of range (WLTP) and up to 292 hp, you can experience electrifying acceleration from 0-60mph in around five seconds.

Charge the battery from 10-80% using a 170kW charger in as little as 32 minutes. The Mercedes-Benz EQE also uses the same intelligent thermal management as the EQS to optimise charging.

4. BMW i7 – up to 387 miles (WLTP)

Meet the first fully electric seven series – the BMW i7. The luxury electric saloon offers up to 387 miles of range (WLTP) and powerful performance with up to 544hp. Accelerate from 0-60mph in as little as 4.7 seconds.

The BMW i7 also provides a highly efficient drive. This is thanks to its lightweight, aerodynamic design, and regenerative braking technology.

Whether you charge at home, or on the go, you can quickly regain up to 62 miles of range. Using a 7kW home wall box will take around two and a half hours, or six minutes using a high-power charger

5. Volkswagen ID.7 - up to 383 miles (WLTP)

If you are looking for a long-range electric car that has fast charging and plenty of space, look no further than the Volkswagen ID.7.

With a 77kWh battery, the ID.7 has a maximum range of up to 383 miles (WLTP) and 0-62mph acceleration in 6.5 seconds.

Currently, the ID.7 is only available as a hatchback. But the ID.7 Tourer has been announced and will be on sale soon.

6. Volkswagen ID.3 (Pro S Essential) - up to 356 miles (WLTP)

The Volkswagen ID.3 is a compact electric car that allows you to live your daily life to the fullest. With a range of trim options available – the Pro S Essential trim offers up to 356 miles of range (WLTP).

Equipped with a 77kWh battery, the Volkswagen ID.3 Pro S Essential can accelerate from 0.62mph in 7.9 seconds.

7. Kia EV9 – up to 349 miles (WLTP)

8. Audi Q8 e-tron – up to 330 miles (WLTP)

Make the switch to electric easy with the Audi e-tron line-up. The Audi Q8 e-tron is a stylish and spacious all-electric SUV delivering up to 330 miles of range (WLTP), giving you the freedom to drive further.

If you prefer to utilise high-speed DC chargers, the Q8 55 e-tron has a maximum charging capacity of 170kW at public charging points.

9. Audi Q4 e-tron – up to 329 miles (WLTP)

If you are looking for a compact, all-electric SUV, the Audi Q4 e-tron ticks all the boxes. With a maximum range of up to 329 miles (WLTP), you can confidently tackle everyday journeys without range anxiety.

Similar to the Audi Q8 e-tron, the Q4 e-tron can also be charged at high power charging points.

The Q4 45 e-tron has a maximum charging capacity of 135kW, and the 45 and 55 e-tron quattro up to 175kW. This means you can charge the battery from 10-80% in around 28 minutes.

10. Kia EV6 – up to 328 miles (WLTP)

The Kia EV6 is designed for the bold with a striking exterior design. With a maximum range of up to 328 miles (WLTP), the fully electric crossover offers ultra-fast charging times.

Whether you choose rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, both models are equipped with a 77.4kWh battery. You can power up from 10-80% using a fast charger in only 18 minutes.

The Kia EV6 also offers Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology. This allows you to use your car as a portable power supply with up to 3.6kWh of electricity.
